Description
In Ocala, we call the end of June through most of September the doldrums. The humidity is so high it hits you like a soup can as you open the patio door. Horses are quiet, very little exercise riding in the heat, so the town slows down to a standstill. Sort of like the breeze, unless you are on a rise of land to catch some relief from hot, itchy, sticky weather.I usually find an indoor project for the summer, I have had a lot of fun this summer with monotype print making. I was fortunate to have attended a workshop on printmaking. We used a roller, acrylic paint, and a gel plate, something I missed when it evolved in the 1990’s, what fun!!
Since I had all the paints and the roller/brayer, I purchased a gel plate and began my attempt to make some prints. But, they needed to be my images transferred to wood. Something I have researched and tested and the results are on target!!
These are my photos transferred to wood, I can also transfer your photos as well. The fun of it is, that I apply the print face down to the wood. Here is where the fun begins, because I leave it overnight, and forget what I have made…But it is a matter of gently peeling the paper off the back and the pigment of the print remains. So Cool!
